Overview
This tail tracker prototype is made with fabric and plastic buckles, snap buttons, elastic bands, etc. Everything is made by hand stitching
About the research
The research is about remote pet care for people who have to leave their pets at home regularly. The tail tracker plays a role in the research process of obtaining the dog's emotional data by analyzing the dog's tail movement with the motion sensor inside the harness.
The crafting process
Every single component was hand stitched. From harness strips to sensor covers and connections between different components, everything was carefully stitched by my hand.
Making components
Components of the harness mainly includes strips, and the sensor cover that plays a key role in the research.
Making the patterns
For the prototype, I sketched the patterns for all the components based on the measure of our model dog's size.
